Procedure - CQI / IRCA Auditor/Lead Auditor Registration


CQI/IRCA Lead Auditor Criteria 

- Lead Auditor

Type I

Applicable to most of the auditor from the certification body (CB) 

Type II

Applicable to most of the management system consultant, internal (1st-party) auditor and supplier (2nd-party) auditor 

    Applicant

    • Competent in conducting ‘full management system’ audits; and 
    • Experienced in leading teams that carry out external audits.

    		 Within 5 years, you have：
    • Successfully completed the CQI/IRCA certified Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course.
    • Been qualified as a 3rd-party Lead Auditor and conducting the 3rd-party certification audits. 
    		 Within 5 years, you have：
    • Successfully completed the CQI/IRCA certified Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course.
    • Conducted the internal (1st-party) audits and/or supplier (2nd-party) audits for the organization. 
    Work Experience
    1. You must have a minimum of four (4) years’ full-time general work experience; and 
    2. At least two (2) years of scheme-specific work experience.

    Learning
    1. You must have successfully completed a CQI/IRCA Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor course; or 
    2. A relevant IRCA Certified Auditor/Lead Auditor conversion course (if you are an Auditor/Lead Auditor in another scheme).

    • A valid (within 5 years) and successfully completed CQI/IRCA certified Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course Certificate

    • A valid (within 5 years) and successfully completed CQI/IRCA certified Auditor/Lead Auditor Training Course Certificate  
    Auditing experience
    1. You must have completed full management system audits covering all elements of the audit cycle, amounting to at least 20 days, including at least 15 days on-site.
    2. In addition, you must also have conducted three (3) full management system audits as leader of an audit team, amounting to at least 15 days, including at least 10 days on-site.

    Hints for prepare the audit record:

    • The 3rd-party audit records are preferred.
    • The provided information shall be consented by the client and company. 
    • The CQI/IRCA reserved the right to verify and validate the provided information, i.e. direct contact with the client. 
    • The audit man/day record is recommended to provide 30% ~ 50% more than required. 

    		 Please prepare the following documents: 
    • IRCA Audit Log 

    Hints for prepare the audit record:

    • The internal (1rd-party) audit and supplier (2nd-party) audit records might be accepted by IRCA and the applicant shall ensure the audits covered all elements of the management system and audit requirements.
    • The audit log shall include both internal (1rd-party) audit and supplier (2nd-party) audit experiences.
    • The provided information shall be consented by the client and company. 
    • The CQI/IRCA reserved the right to verify and validate the provided information, i.e. direct contact with the client. 
    • The audit man/day record is recommended to provide 80% ~ 100% more than required. 
    Audits must have been performed:
    1. After successfully completing an IRCA Certified Training Course
    2. Within 5 years from the date of application
    • Please ensure the audits completed within 5 years after the course completed. 
      • Please ensure the audits completed within 5 years after the course completed.

      • Besides the annual requirements, the CQI/IRCA will renew the qualification every 3 years, if not fulfill the above requirements, the registration will be revoked.
